Android Support / Re: Video listings blank using Pogoplug NAS
« on: January 10, 2011, 18:20:59 »
Wow - my original explanation was all over the place, wasn't it!  A little clarification...

I have a directory of video files stored on my pogoplug.  The directory structure is nested (separating shows, seasons etc.)

When I add this to the Video folder in windows, or through Media Center, the nested structure appears and all of the files are playable in media center.
However, when I try to access them through the remote control, all I can see is the directory structure - each directory however is empty.  No files show up on the remote control.  Even files at the root of the directory structure (not within a sub-directory) are invisible.
If, instead of videos, I link the pogoplug directory to "Movies" in windows media center, all of the files appear, though the directory structure is stripped out.  The files also appear on the remote control.
If I move the video directory off the pogoplug to a local drive, the directory structure and files work just fine in the 'video' category, both through media center and through the remote

This one certainly isn't a show stopper (I can always use the media center itself, or move the files off the NAS), but I have an odd issue with the video category.

When I have my video (TV shows mainly for this category) on the NAS (a Pogoplug), I can only see directory names, each with an 'empty list' message when I go into them.  If I add the same files to the 'Movies' category, then WMC flattens the structure and the files appear on the remote.  If I move the video to a local drive, then I can add them to the 'video' category and the nesting structures work fine.

Pogoplug appears to the the PC as a normal drive letter.  Music also works fine on the Pogoplug.

The debug file from the PC is as follows:

1/7/2011 12:17:46 PM: System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.
at System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal)
at System.Number.ParseInt32(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info)
   at System.Convert.ToInt32(String value)
   at TV.Channel.set_Data(String value)

Like I said, this isn't a show stopper and it does seem to be an issue with something that the Pogoplug is doing when it's returning the directory listing, but I thought I'd let you know anyway.

Android Support / Re: Host is unresolved

<ahem... hangs head in shame>

So, it would appear that my Android keyboard occasionally adds a space after a period when entering an IP address...  I didn't notice until I saw it happen on the much larger screen of my tablet in pinger (i'd changed the keyboard on the tablet to match that on my phone after I installed MMC), but lo and behold, when I checked on my cell phone, there it was - a little space lurking there.

I'll be in the corner feeling stupid if anyone wants me!

I do, by the way, love this software.  It's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for to control my media center.  When I've recovered sufficiently from my shame I will mention one other problem I'm having (though I suspect it's very much due to the particulars of my set-up), but for now I'll slink off and enjoy your work!

"Why not let 7MC play the ISO's which are mounted by MM? (I have never tried.)"

I also use this solution to play Blu-Ray ISOs in my library.  7MC can't play them, but when combined with TM and MyMovies, WMC lets me keep all my disks safely on the shelf!

Just tried with an Android tablet running 2.1 and connected straight away, so it seems it is a problem with the Glacier

Android Support / Host is unresolved
« on: January 01, 2011, 06:38:39 »
Hi,

I've just installed the client on my HTC Glacier (Mytouch 4G in the US).  I've attempted to connect to two computers (Win 7 32 and 64 bit) running the server software, but I can't connect with either IP addresses or PC names.  When I abort the attempt I am told that the host is unresolved.

I've checked the firewall (and even turned it off), tried different ports and with and without a password.  Any ideas?
