Movies list is empty ...
« on: March 01, 2011, 04:45:43 »
Hi,

My phone can't find the movies anymore after the update to the latest version.
I'm running my movies on shares from WHS and it seems there's a problem with reading the mymovies.xml files

This is what i found in the log i've cut a single instance cause it's repeated for all 1200 movies :(

MCC Server v1.5.4
1-3-2011 2:20:46: movies: xml error: \\SERVER\Movie Library\Movies\30 Days of Night, Dark Days (2010) [720p]\mymovies.xml
1-3-2011 2:20:46: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at MCC_Server.Form1.mm_getMyMovieMetadata(String myMoviesFile)
   at MCC_Server.Form1.mm_getMyMovieMetadata(String myMoviesFile)

Any ideas how to fix it?

Hi softappz,

is it possible that you send me the file "30 Days of Night, Dark Days (2010) [720p]\mymovies.xml"? Windows shares are working in general. It's tested by myself.

Regards

Hi,

Attached the mymovies.xml file.

It's generated by Media Center Master, strange thing is according to thegreenbutton and the forums at mediacentermaster the mymovies.xml should be generated in the right format.

Thanks for looking in to this.

I have found the problem. The ReleaseDate is missing in the xml file and MCC isn't handling this.

I have uploaded a fixed MCC Server. Please uninstall the Server and reinstall it from the known source. (no need to reinstall the MC Addin)

Thanks for figuring this out

Almost there ;)

Thanks for the updated version. I see my movies (Yeahhh)

Movie Title, Date, Time are showing in the list and are ok.
Only things is the covers are all the same (from the first movie in the list)
If i start a random movie the first 1 in the list starts playing??

I checked the genre list so an other movie is on top but still the first movie in all movies starts playing??

Help?? ;)

Damn, I made a mistake.  :( Please download the server from the following link and give it a try.

Markus,

Many thanks, the test3 version is working!! ;)

For your information, Media Center Master can also be used to create mymovies.xml
I'm using Media Browser in combination with Media Center Master for the metadata.

I got 'Empty List', too, until I used 'My Movies'.  But sometimes the list comes up empty, then 30 minutes later it's populated.  I'm using a Netgear Ready NAS NV+ to store my movies with a 7MC HTPC.

Your NAS will first be online on accessing something on it. This is the time where MCC starts grabbing the files into temporary library. This will need it's time and is repeated every time your NAS goes to standby and come byck online. If you have a very large movie database or your NAS or the connection is slow the inventory process needs much time.
Movies aren't stored in a Windows database on your computer so MCC needs to get them every time. The only way would be to make a own db for MCC to speed things up.
