MCC Server not compatible with (e.g.) HuluIntegration

MCC server 1.6.2 (and previous) work badly with plugins such as HuluIntegration.  Some plugins (like this one) shut down WMC and start external apps (like Hulu Desktop).  My installation of MCC Server gets very upset when I exit WMC - it begins to throw "not responding" errors repeatedly.

Why does MCC server need to react so violently in this case?  Is it possible to make MCC server play better with plugins like HuluIntegration (and others), or even be able to tolerate a shutdown of WMC (sometimes I need to exit WMC...)?

My MCC does not get upset. But it exits becuase WMC exits. So when I exit HULU and WMC restarts, there is no MCC server behind it.

Any fix for this? Either in future MCC or to WMC/HULU integration.

Thats true. If you exit WMC, MCC will exit too. But..if WMC is started again, MCC should start in the background too (after some ammount of time depending on your systems overall performance). There is a small delay, because WMC starts addins delayed.

I've gotten the following after trying to stop edia Center.  Sometimes the server goes into a loop trying to restart itself and WMC.  Sometimes I get a ton of tray icons.  I uninstalled the server after it refused to start even manually, the following was in the event logs.

MCC is designed to monitor ehshell.exe (WMC) and exit if WMC exits. This works very good for me and many other users.

Which version of .NET you are using? Do you have all SP installed for .NET?

Probably not every last one.  I'm very cautious anymore about applying MS updates to my media center, as it has caused extreme grief before.
