Any alternative to local admin user? - shaneatvt - 06-22-2014 09:32 PM

Hi,
Really, really, like MCC. I'm pretty hesitant to run my media PC always as an administrator. Running it as a Windows 7 Standard user has been a great way to keep garbageware off (3+ years). Any chance there is a way to configure MCC to run at windows startup as a Standard user? I'm game for a more complex configure procedure or possibly not being able to use some other features.

Thanks,
Shane.

Hi, the user only needs to be in the local administrators group while installling/updating the server. After this process it can be a standard user. The important thing to know is, that "run as" is not working for MCC installation. The user has to be (temporarly) in the administrators group.
