Hi,

maybe the error message is a bit strange. MCC only supports radio from TV signal like DVB. Radio tuner or streaming isn't supported.

Regards

Hmmm sad to read this.... there is no were on the website that you mention this limitation in radio. When I see an advert for a program to control Windows Media Center, and it lists radio as an option, my first assumption is that it controls the Radio function within MCC. To my knowledge DVB-T radio isnt even supported out of the box in MCC?

Is this on a future feature list to support the built in radio in MCC? It was the primary reason for me to buy this application, as I want to change radio stations without turning on my TV.

(FYI, if you support the standard MCC radio, then streaming will also work, as you can add in streaming radio stations to the "FM tuner" list in MCC).

Supporting more radio features is on my TODO list.

Nice, just for your testing, if you do this:

1.  Create this directory (enable hiddens dirs): C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs\Radio\

2. Create the file with notepad "<radio station name>.htm" with these entries:
Code: [Select]
<script>
function IsMCEEnabled()
{
return true;
}
window.external.MediaCenter.PlayMedia(1, "http://www.dr.dk/netradio/Metafiler/asx/dr_world_128.asx" );
window.external.MediaCenter.Experience.GoToFullScreen()
window.external.MediaCenter.CloseApplication();
</SCRIPT>

You can replace the http://** with another stream

3. Save a logo of the station "<radio station name>.jpg"

4. Create the file with notepad "<radio station name>.mcl" with these entries:
Code: [Select]
<application  name="Name of Radio Station"
 url="<radio station name>.htm"
 startimage="<radio station name>.jpg"
 thumbnailimage="<radio station name>.jpg"
 description="Description of the station"
 category="1"
 companyname="">
 <capabilitiesrequired  directx="false"
    audio="true"
    video="false"
    intensiverendering="false"
    console="false"
    cdburning="false"
 />
</application>

Then restart WMC, and enter the "standard" radio app in WMC, the station will pop-up. Nice and clean streaming implementation without any additional apps/plugins + it works in parallel with FM radio.

All the information in the mcl file is read by WMC and displayed on the screen, so I am sure there is a way for you to read out that information directly from WMC instead of from the files.
