MCC problems/questions
« on: April 07, 2011, 16:44:30 »
Hi all!

I have the following problem with MCC:
In the "MCC Settings" program I set up my computer's name, enter the LAN-card's MAC adress for WOL, save, exit, start the client program, select "Network", select my computer's name from the list, and the client starts "resolving computer adress..." and nothing happens... I can cancel the operation, but if I leave it, nothing happens for hours... What am I doing wrong? If I try to connect via IP adress, it works without any problem. It seems that the MCC client can't resolve the IP-adress of the PC, if I try to connect using the name of the host PC.
The other problem:
I set up MCC on 2 computers. For 1 COM port I only can assign 1 device, so I had to use 2 COM ports (COM0 for my laptop and COM2 for my PC). I add them to MCC Settings, enter the client, select Bluetooth. Now the two COM ports appear, but I can't connect via any of them. If I delete for example COM0 from the settings, the client after selecting bluetooth connects to the PC. If I add COM0 again, and select COM2 when asked, I get the "Could not connect to server. Please check the configuration."-error. What should I do?
I don't know if it's relevant, but I'm using a HTC P3600 and WM6.5.

Regards,

Hi,

MCC uses the Windows Mobile DNS to resolve the ip adress. If it's not working with a hostname, then there is something going wrong with DNS on your device. But usiong an IP is ok.
