Is it possible to put PC into "Standby" or Sleep ?
« on: December 21, 2011, 12:12:53 »
Hello,
GREAT piece of software.
I could see a shut down option but couldn't find any Standby or Sleep.
Just wanted to ask if it is possible to put PC into "Standby" or Sleep ?

Thanks !

At the PC end, open up the Settings for MCC (icon near clock). On the Advanced tab are Sleep options.
I think the control on the android device still says "Shut Down" but the PC will sleep instead if sleep is selected.

Man you're the best !  It works !
Thanks.

One more thing please - will the opposite work ?
I mean can I wake up the PC with this app ?
I think it's depends on a bios setting, "wake up on network demand" or something,  am I tight ?

Hi isotoper,

you are right. You have to get WOL working with your PC. But this isn't easy to explain because there are so many PC mainboards and BIOS. But you will find a basic description in the MCC manual.

I found WOL (Wake-On-LAN) was very tempremental so I have stopped using it. This is not the fault of MCC but the fault of my old motherboard (I updated the BIOS to but this did not help)!
