Unexpected shutdowns
« on: June 26, 2012, 16:19:30 »
Hi,
First off, this app is brilliant, exactly what I wanted, so thank you! Unfortunately, I'm having one or two problems; sometimes when I have selected music through the app, it plays fine, but then the pc shuts itself down after about 30mins-which is the period I have set it to shutdown after if not in use. I have noticed that the music shows as playing on the montitor (a tv screen) but not on the screen on the case (a soundgraph lcd in a silverstone GD01MX case). Here it just shows as 'music (stopped)', so figure this must be related to the reason.
Has anyone got any ideas about why when music selected through the app doesn't register on the pc as it being 'in use'?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, bit of an update here... If I select a track (or album / playlist) and play this through to the end, media center seems to handle this fine. If this track (or album / playlist) then finishes, and I use the app to select a new track / album / playlist, it plays, but does not show on the lcd screen on the case and the computer shuts down unexpectedly after 30 mins.
Using MCE standby tool, I can see that when initially playing the first song / album / playlist, media center is seen as active. When this then finishes and I start a new track / album / playlist, media center is seen as idle, hence the shutdown after 30mins. Any idea why this might be?

Thanks

Hi, do you set the shutdown on idle in MCE Standby Tool or do you use the windows default energy settings?

Hi and thanks for the reply. I set the shutdown on idle in the Standby tool, I found with windows that it was inconsistent when sleeping from resume.
If I close Standby tool, and then try to play music in the same way, it still doesn't show on the lcd screen, so guess it is still doing the same?

In all cases you described you never see informations about playing music on your soundgraph LCD?

Which version of MCE Standby Tool you are using? I will test it. Please be patient I'm a bit busy in the moment. My Router, Switches and LAN interfaces are damaged by a thunderbolt.  :'(

When I make the initial selection of a track it plays fine and shows on the lcd as normal. When the track finishes and I use the app to select a new track, it is only then that it doesn't show on lcd and I experience the idle issue. When checking the Standby Tool, on selection of first track, it shows media center as 'in use'. When that track finishes and I select a new one, it shows media center as 'idle'

To clarify, I have it set to S3 standby (not shutdown as I previously stated), so the computer is going into standby due to it seeming to be 'idle'.

I'm using version V0.9.102 - the Win 7 beta.

I appreciate you looking into it - good luck fixing all that!

Hi, my hardware got broken by a thunderbolt damage. New hardware is purchased and on the way. Then I'm able to test this issue.
